Dr. Andrew Martin is an Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Joint Replacement and Sports Medicine. He is a graduate of Howard University College of Medicine in Washington DC at the top of his class and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Martin completed his orthopedic residency training at Howard University Hospital in Washington, DC. He continued with additional fellowship training at the AI Dupont Institute in Wilmington, Delaware.

Following his fellowship training, Dr. Martin began his active duty tour in the United States Navy. He was stationed at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland. During his tour, he served as Department Head of Orthopedic Surgery aboard the naval hospital ship USNS Comfort. He is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom where he managed orthopedic war injuries in both American and Iraqi armed forces. Dr. Martin played an active role in the training of military orthopedic residents as well as medical students at the Uniformed Services University.

Dr. Martin uses the most advanced surgical procedures and techniques for quicker healing and overall wellbeing. He is a specialist in the Mako SmartRobotics.™ This innovative joint replacement surgical procedure helps his patients who suffer from painful arthritis and deterioration of the knee or hip. With a Mako knee or hip replacement, the entire joint is replaced with a Triathlon joint implant. This new joint replacement procedure is different than traditional knee replacements because they are designed to work with the body to promote natural-like circular motion.
